If you were doing anything last night, you were probably watching the US Women’s National Team dominate the FIFA World Cup Final. Even if you’re not a soccer fan, these ladies are addicting to watch.
I, however, had my eye glued to one player in particular, the beautiful Ali Krieger. I had the honor of spending the day with her a little over a year ago, doing her makeup and hair for the interview portion of a documentary series by Comcast SportsNet about her and fellow Penn State Alumni, 2x US Wrestling Olympian Kerry McCoy. Since I never got the chance to share this with you- I thought no better time than to do so now!
Earlier this year something major happened- powers were combined, magic was made, and my heart melted. I’m speaking specifically, of course, of the photo shoot with the incredible Travis Curry and the beautiful Ivey Rebecca of Major Models NYC. We did three different looks, with no particular style to aim for- just big hair and bold makeup! I used MAC Cosmetics lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous for the bright pink lip. Lashes used are #41 by Red Cherry. Hair by Kayleigh Burton of Xtreme Hair Salon.
Caitlin was a dream to work with for her wedding day makeup for her big day at the Inn at Perry Cabin. She was vibrant and excited and her makeup looked flawless. I’m really happy with how everything turned out and the photos look amazing thanks to their wedding photographers, Daysy Photography!
First of all, Anabella was a dream bride to work with. So beautiful, so fun, and I can not forget to mention her beyond precious daugther, aka my makeup partner in crime. I loved working with her to find a makeup look for her wedding and so happy to see how amazing her photos by Maureen Pacheco Photography turned out. Kentlands Mansion is such a beautiful venue and it looks like their day was absolutely perfect.
This time I’m happy to share this amazing K-Pop photo shoot for Be Scene Studios that I did the makeup for. David Dang’s photos are incredible and I especially loved the before and afters. Here are some of my favorites, but be sure to check out the whole gallery.
This past summer I worked on another photo shoot for Andrea’s Beau, a hair accessories company in the DC area. I’ve done makeup for their photo shoots before, but this time a good friend and awesome videographer (Jon Armstrong of The Documentist) was there to capture some behind the scenes. So, I guess, check me out, doing my thing… Thanks again Jon!
Can NOT believe it’s already 2015! This year flew by and seemingly under the radar, so did this photo shoot I did with Andrew Boon Photography. It was a little boho, a little woodland nymph-y, a little… Awesome! The model was absolutely stunning and I loved doing the makeup for this shoot. Here’s a few of my favorites, but check out the rest of the photos on Andrew’s site!

Jenny was such a pleasure to work with. She was absolutely stunning, the venue was gorgeous, and I was so happy to do her makeup and be a part of this huge day for them. So excited to share some of the photos from their photographer Marirosa and you can see many more on her website.
I get to do a lot of cool things as a makeup artist, but nothing is as satisfying as raising awareness for a great cause. I was stoked to be a part of this shoot with photographer Walter Grio, to raise awareness for the Gift of Life Project which encourages women to get regular mammograms at the Capital Breast Care Center.
As you could probably imagine, I am obsessed with fashion week. So, when I was asked to join the Nectar Skin Bar crew and present a lash bar for Diane von Fürstenberg’s DVF showcase at the W Hotel in DC, I said… “I’ll think about it.” Just kidding, I said yes, I said HELL YES!!
Unfortunately, I was too busy doing lashes to take any photos but no worries, photographer Daniel Swartz captured lots of good photos. Here are some of my favorites:
Let’s just say that Kristyn knows a thing or two about weddings. As someone with a background in wedding planning who now works for WeddingWire, I’m super stoked to have been chosen as the makeup artist for her big day. We planned the makeup trial for the day of her engagement shoot and it couldn’t have been better timing.
Kristyn and Nick hit the streets of Fells Point and Federal Hill for their Baltimore engagement session with photographer Paula Bartosiewicz. It’s been a pleasure working with Kristyn so far and can’t wait to do her and her bridesmaids’ makeup on her wedding day.
Here are some of my favorites from the shoot. Enjoy!
Christine and Kevin were amazing to work with (well, I guess I only worked with Christine, but I met Kevin and he was great). The two are such a fun and energetic couple. I loved doing her makeup for their engagement session at the Comus Inn in Dickerson, Maryland and I’m so excited for their wedding.
True story: Their “first date” came unexpectedly when mutual friends invited them both out for drinks and karaoke in Annapolis. As the story goes, Christine’s friend bailed on her during their turn at karaoke, so Christine had to sing Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” all by her lonesome. Kevin must have enjoyed it, because the two have been together ever since.
Yesterday I shared a photo from a shoot I worked on at The Flying Bridge in DC with a number of great wedding professionals. The photos came out amazing and there’s a whole team behind the end results that really made this shoot click (no pun intended). Here are some of my favorite photos from the shoot:
More photos below, but gotta give credit to the amazing people who worked on this shoot!
As a makeup artist, I work with photographers all the time but wanted to give a quick shout out to our friends over at Hamilton Photography. Not only are they amazing photographers, but they’re fantastic people to work with.
The reason for the shout out is that after working with Mark from Hamilton Photography, he so graciously sent over photos from a shoot we worked on at The Flying Bridge in Washington, DC so that I can use them on the website (you’ll see the one below has been put up in the portfolio already). I’ll post more of the photos from this shoot soon, but wanted to share this one right away!
As a makeup artist in DC, I get to work on a lot of cool projects. I recently posted a photo from an older shoot for Andrea’s Beau that I got to work on. I’ve provided makeup for a couple photo shoots for this company and wanted to put up these photos from a product shoot we did towards the end of Summer 2013. I loved working with my team on this one, hope you like!
It’s always cool to see the application of your work. Since this shoot was for product images for the website, you can see many of the photos used on the Andrea’s Beau website. Here’s a screenshot but head on over to their shop to see their whole line.
I’ve worked with Andrea’s Beau a couple of times now and wanted to share this photo from one of the first shoots I did for them. Andrea’s Beau makes a full line of hair accessories for women. The model was stunning and had gorgeous hair (perfect for showing off their product line). For the launch of their spring/summer line they wanted a Mad-Men-inspired look, so in terms of makeup, I went with a sculpted brow and strong cat-eye liner.
I know this is an old one but I came across the photos from this wedding today and I thought I’d better post it while it’s still fresh in my mind. Michelle was a gorgeous bride and I distinctly remember how much fun doing the makeup for this wedding was. It was a beautiful summer day at the Evergreen Museum and Michelle was just as excited as ever.
Here are a few photos from their wedding day, you can see more over at ReadyLuck!
Ok, ok, I know, I know… I never update this blog (and that’s going to change, I promise) but in an effort to make a change, I wanted to post some pictures from a wedding I did at the end of September, 2011 (yikes)!
First of all, a big THANK YOU to Natalie of Natalie Franke Photography for the amazing pictures and another HUGE thanks to April for having me there to do her makeup on her big day! I’ve known April since high school, so this wedding was especially fun for me and a great experience to be able to do makeup for a friend on such an important day.
Well, 2011 is rapidly coming to a close, and while some of us may have started our holiday shopping early, I’ve been busy getting my new website ready. 2012 is going to be a busy year full of beautiful brides, photo shoots and much more so a big thank you to Ryan Deal for the website and Tommy Davis for the logo. You guys did an awesome job and I can’t thank you enough.
